Calling high school artistsIn preparation for its Christmas edition, the Florida Catholic seeks high school artists to design the front cover. This year, the newspaper asks artists to base their artwork on the Bible quote, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us” (Mt 1:23). The Florida Catholic is a faith-based newspaper, so high school artists are asked to stay within appropriate themes. The winning artist will receive a $50 gift card to iTunes. High school artists may use any medium and art should be drawn on an 8½-by-11-inch (or larger) piece of sturdy white paper. The submission deadline is Sunday, Nov. 25. Submissions should be labeled with artists’ name, address, e-mail address, phone number, school and parish, and mailed or delivered to: Florida Catholic, Attn: Mary St. Pierre, 50 E. Robinson St., Suite G, Orlando, FL 32801. All submissions become the property of the Florida Catholic and may be used in the newspaper, on the Web site and for reproduction of print materials. For more information, e-mail St. Pierre at mstpierre@thefloridacatholic.org |
