Student is a semifinalist in national contest

Janine Duffy, Pope John Paul II class of 2010, is a semifinalist in this year’s National Merit Scholarship Program. Janine was selected based upon qualifying scores earned through testing, and high scores that indicate her exceptional academic abilities and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The total number of selected semifinalists represents fewer than 1 percent of high school seniors in the United States. Janine is now continuing the competition, completing a complicated application with the goal of becoming a finalist and winner of a scholarship to further her education at a college of her choice.
