ORLANDO | The third-grade classes from St. John Vianney Catholic School here celebrated their faith and love of all God’s people May 12 at International Day, an annual event celebrated for more than 19 years. The day began with the third-graders processing into the school Mass, concelebrated by Father Paul Henry, pastor, who hails from Northern Ireland, and Father Alfredo Monteiro, who is originally from India.

After reciting the parish prayer, the students sang songs from various countries for the school community. The songs were intended to remind everyone the school is a community of cultures, united in the love of Christ.

The students prepared for the day by studying other countries and cultures. They not only prepared reports and display boards, but also brought costumes and foods to share.

After Mass, everyone gathered at the parish community center to enjoy entertainment and view the student projects. Following lunch, parents helped the students make crafts based on designs from around the world.
