The priest and Eternal High Priest
DANIEL SOÑÉ | FC
MIAMI | Miami’s Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Agustin A. Roman kneels in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament during a June 19 vigil at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Miami marking the beginning of the Year for Priests called for by Pope Benedict XVI. The date falls upon the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which is celebrated by the religious order, Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, because it is half of their dual devotion to Jesus and Mary. The Siervas, as they are known in Spanish, hold their annual 12–hour vigil on the feast day, which begins and ends with Mass. This year, Auxiliary Bishop Agustin A. Roman was the main celebrant.
