July 2008 Service nets scholarships at St. Andrew SchoolPosted: 07.02.08 St. Andrew School in Coral Springs has awarded $9,500 in scholarships to children who are using their gifts and talents to serve the school, church and community. The scholarships are $500 each for 19 students, to be used during the 2008-09 school year. The winners of the National Junior Honor Society scholarships were seventh-graders Stephen Rafferty, Amanda Flood, Nicole Claros and Alexa Parra; sixth-graders Christopher Kotcherha and Sara Silva; and fifth-graders Juliana Restrepo and Jonathan Taylor. Fourth-graders Marcos Sanchez Gomez and Vincente Pereira won the Father Joseph Karunei scholarships. Third-graders Francisco Rojas and Megan Cahill won the Tommy Shaughnessy scholarships. Second-graders Brittany Pierre and Matthew Goldberg won the Father Masterson scholarships. Grandparents Day scholarships went to sixth-grader Navia Thompson, fifth-graders Erin Carragee and Gwendolyn Mingo, and third-grader Nathan Vogel. The high school scholarship, named after former principal Mary Lou Balog, went to Christina Davis
